DEPARTMENT: Information Technology (IT)PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The Development Manager is a pivotal leadership role within the Business Applications function, responsible for managing the software development team and ensuring effective execution of support, change, and project deliverables. This individual will take ownership of the full development lifecycle, resource planning, team leadership, and operational execution.

Delivery on project deadlines and milestones
Team utilisation and capacity optimisation
Support ticket resolution times
Developer retention and engagement
Process adherence and improvement outcomes
Stakeholder satisfaction ratings
Reduction in delivery bottlenecks and escalations
Frequency and speed of resolving blockers
Reduction in key person risk through documented knowledge sharing
Requirements:
MINIMUM SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
8+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership capacity.
Strong technical understanding of enterprise software systems, integration patterns, and full-stack development.
Proven experience managing cross-functional teams responsible for both project delivery and operational support.
Solid grasp of SDLC methodologies (Agile/Scrum/Waterfall) and tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
Familiarity with change management and production support frameworks.
Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
