Roles and ResponsibilitiesJob Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Voice Engineer to replace an existing resource within our team. The ideal candidate will take over the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our VoIP communication systems, ensuring seamless service delivery to both internal and external clients. This role requires a proactive professional who can quickly adapt to our existing infrastructure while introducing enhancements for improved performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Seamless Transition & Knowledge Transfer:
Take over responsibilities from the existing resource, ensuring a smooth transition with minimal disruption to operations. Quickly familiarize yourself with current VoIP systems and procedures.
Design & Implementation:
Configure, implement, and manage VoIP systems, including PBX, call routing, and interconnectivity between SIP and RTP platforms.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
Identify, diagnose, and resolve VoIP network, hardware, and software issues. Ensure system uptime and business continuity.
VoIP Network Optimization:
Monitor and optimize voice network quality and reliability, addressing packet loss, jitter, and latency issues.
System Monitoring:
Oversee the performance of VoIP systems, proactively addressing issues before they impact business operations.
Security & Compliance:
Maintain security protocols for VoIP systems, implementing encryption, secure signaling, and best practices to safeguard voice communication.
Integration & Upgrades:
Work with internal teams to integrate VoIP solutions with the current infrastructure, manage system upgrades, and apply necessary patches.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain updated documentation on system configurations, troubleshooting steps, and service level agreements. Provide regular reports on system health and performance.
Training & Support:
Support end-users by addressing technical concerns and providing training as needed. Develop user guides and troubleshooting manuals for team reference.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field. Certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP Collaboration, Avaya, or equivalent are preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with VoIP technologies, including system setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Strong expertise in IP PBX, SIP trunks, QoS, call routing, and media gateways.
