Job Purpose:The Skills Development Officer plays a key role in fostering employee growth and organizational development by driving learning programs, employment equity initiatives, and BBBEE compliance while ensuring business objectives are met.
Job Scope:
The Skills Development Officer is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring all skills development initiatives within the organization. This includes training and development, employment equity compliance, performance management support, succession planning, and BBBEE skills development contributions. The role ensures that the company meets its Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR) obligations while supporting the overall talent development strategy. This position requires working closely with department heads, SETAs, training providers, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and maximize skills development benefits for both employees and the organization.
Qualifications and Experience:
Grade 12 Diploma in Human Resources Management 3 to 5 years related experience preferably in the construction, engineering or manufacturing sectors. Job Outputs:
Skills Development and Training Co-ordination
Develop, implement, and monitor the Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR) in line with SETA requirements. Identify training and development needs across the organization through skills gap analysis and performance reviews. Coordinate internal and external training interventions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and legislative requirements. Liaise with training providers, SETAs, and other relevant stakeholders to facilitate skills development programs. Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness, compiling reports and recommendations for continuous improvement. Employment Equity (EE) Compliance and BBBEE Skills Development:
Assist in the development and implementation of the Employment Equity Plan, ensuring compliance with the Employment Equity Act. Facilitate EE and BBBEE skills development initiatives, ensuring alignment with legislative and company requirements. Facilitate the employment equity meetings, ensure that EE Forum Elections are held every two years. Support the organization in achieving its BBBEE targets through learnerships, internships, apprenticeships, and bursary programs. Submit necessary reports to the Department of Labour and ensure compliance with EE reporting obligations. Succession Planning and Talent Development:
