Key Responsibilities:Financial Recording, Reporting, and Analysis
Manage all accounting, tax, and related functions, including recording and reviewing financial transactions on SAGE. Perform and review reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, cashbooks, creditors, and debtors. Assess and ensure alignment of stock balances and control accounts with working capital targets. Analyze income statements against budgets and targets, reporting any discrepancies or trends. Ensure timely preparation and delivery of accurate financial reports. Prepare and review annual financial statements before submission for approval. Financial Management, Legal & Regulatory Compliance, and Administration
Monitor key financial ratios to identify problem areas and develop strategies for improvement. Control expenses to remain within agreed budgets. Ensure adherence to relevant financial regulations, tax laws, and best practices. Improve internal financial controls while maintaining operational efficiency. Coordinate the preparation for external annual audits and liaise with auditors. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, negotiating sales targets with relevant departments. Develop forecasts for future performance, providing clear commentary on assumptions and expected changes. Lead customer and supplier negotiations, including contracting and tenders. Mentor and develop the financial team, conducting performance evaluations and addressing skills development needs. Ensure accurate payroll and tax calculations, including benefits distribution. Attend Executive Board meetings and support decisions where required. Qualifications & Skills:
A degree in Accounting (BCom, BCompt, BAcc, Accounting Honors, or CA(SA)). Professional registration with a recognized accounting body such as SAICA, SAIPA, CIMA, or IMAS. Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience at a management level. Experience with SAGE Payroll and Accounting systems (additional accounting systems knowledge is an advantage).
