Description:
Key Responsibilities:Assume responsibility as the legally appointed engineer in terms of Regulation 2.13.1. Oversee the maintenance and operational efficiency of all mechanical and electrical mining equipment. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime. Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. Lead and mentor a team of engineering professionals and technicians. Collaborate with other departments to enhance overall operational efficiency. Manage budgets and resources effectively to meet operational goals. Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure equipment and processes meet industry standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) in Mines and Works. Minimum of 5 years experience in a coal mining environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. In-depth knowledge of mining equipment maintenance and reliability. Strong understanding of legal requirements, including Regulation 2.13.1 appointments. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Valid drivers license.
