Description:
Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and risks. Collaborate with department heads and employees to promote a culture of safety and responsibility. Monitor and analyse safety data and trends to identify areas for improvement. Provide training and resources to employees on safe work practices and procedures. Investigate and report on accidents and incidents, implementing corrective actions as necessary. Ensure that all safety equipment and gear are properly maintained and used according to guidelines. Coordinate with external agencies and stakeholders to stay abreast of industry best practices and regulations.
Qualifications and Experience:
National Diploma in Safety Management or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years experience in a safety management role within the mining industry. In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations specific to coal mining operations. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Strong organizational and analytical abilities. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Proficiency in the use of computers
