Description:
Core Purpose of the Role:In this role, you will be tasked with handling the technical design and power systems studies for projects within the section. Additionally, you will provide support to professional engineers, project managers, and other professionals and consultants. Your focus will specifically involve leading and executing grid studies (utilizing Power Factory/PSSE and/or ETAP) as well as managing electrical infrastructure projects within the group.
Key Performance Area's
Providing input into the design of transmission and distribution switching stations and substations, which includes designs from 11 kV up to 500 kV. Substation Primary Plant design (develop SLD, GA, Sections, EarthGrid, Lighting, Lightning, Trench, and Conduit Layout). Earthing design in CDEGS. Lighting design in Relux and Dialux. (Develop 3D models in CAD and import to Relux or Dialux.). Lightning protection design in CDEGS is based on international standards and electro-geometric modeling. (Develop 3D models in SES Shield.). EMF calculations and modeling in CDEGS. Corona, noise, and RFI calculations based on EPRI methods and modeling in CDEGS. Short Circuit Forces calculations based on international standards calculated with MATHCAD would be advantageous. Compile BOMs, reports, and engineering calculations. Compile primary plant equipment technical specifications and schedules. upervise and lead small teams consisting of technicians, students, draftsmen, and graduates. Provide guidance and mentorship to technicians, graduate technologists, and/or graduate engineers in the utilization of relevant software tool
