Description:
An Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Manager is responsible for ensuring that a system, product, or service is designed, developed, and sustained in a way that optimises lifecycle supportability, maintainability, and cost-effectiveness.This role is crucial in defence, aerospace, and other industries where complex systems require long-term support.
Key Responsibilities:
Lifecycle Planning & Management. Develop and implement ILS strategies for products and systems. Ensure supportability throughout the lifecycle, from design to disposal. Manage logistics elements, including supply chain, maintenance, and training.
Maintenance & Sustainment:
Develop and oversee maintenance plans and procedures. Ensure spare parts, repair capabilities, and technical support are in place. Optimize reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) metrics.
Supply Chain & Procurement:
Coordinate logistics activities with suppliers and stakeholders. Ensure cost-effective and timely procurement of spare parts and materials. Manage obsolescence and end-of-life component strategies.
Technical Documentation & Training:
Oversee the creation of manuals, maintenance guides, and operational procedures. Develop and implement training programs for users and maintenance teams.
Risk Management & Compliance:
Identify and mitigate risks related to logistics and sustainment. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and contractual obligations.
Stakeholder Coordination:
Work with Engineering, Project Management, and operations teams. Liaise with customers, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
Skills & Qualifications:
Background in Engineering, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management. Knowledge of ILS methodologies (e.g., MIL-STD-1388, ASD S3000L). Experience with logistics software and tools. Strong project management and leadership skills.
