Coal Mine – Mining exp is requiredSenior Role Main responsibilities and duties- Maintain and update policies and procedures, ensuring the enforcement and adherence of these policies and procedures by advising and monitoring management and staff
- Maintain the effective implementation of succession planning for the Mining Operations
- Guide managers on how to imbed time and attendance guidelines with employees
- Oversee leave management for all employees on the ESS system
- Monitor and track site attendance trends
- Manage time and attendance information daily and rectify anomalies to ensure accuracy of records
- Manage allowances on ESS system
- Train employees to use ESS system to capture leave
- Ensure SARS registration
Recruitment Management
- Manage the onboarding and offboarding of all employees
- Assist in creating, implementing, and managing onboarding plans
- Develop and review job descriptions in accordance with industry standards and best practice
- Participate in all interviews and give advice from an HR perspective
- Develop and quality assure subordinate job adverts and post on approved recruitment platforms
- Manage the screening and shortlisting process for potential hires
- Develop and prepare Interview Packs
- Coordinate selection panel meeting and include labour representatives
- Ensure Criminal checks and qualifications verifications are conducted against employee information
- Develop offer letter and contract to desired candidate
- Manage and ensure filing system to allow for ease of access of employee records.
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment and selection process
- Investigate and introduce employee wellness plans to motivate employees in collaboration with People and Culture Executive
- Identify employee needs and arrange wellness programs
- Ensure employees are aware of wellness interventions by designing and developing relevant context specific initiatives
- Encourage employees to utilize wellness services and make appropriate referrals
- Address employee queries
Performance Management
- Drive performance management across the plant, ensure line managers are trained on the approved PM approach and system and maintain system
- Advise and facilitate the implementation of the Performance Management system in the Mining Operations
- Ensure the successful and consistent management, implementation, and application of Performance Management initiatives in the Mining Operations
- Develop charge sheets and give labour relations advice to aggrieved parties
- Conduct internal investigations and interview all parties involved in grievances
- Present at all disciplinary hearings on Clients behalf
- Develop disciplinary packs ensuring all source documents are on file
- Present outcome to employees (i.e., warning and dismissal)
- Conduct exit medicals and all administration associated with employee dismissals
- Manage the ed Employee Equity information on the Employee Self Service Portal
- Chair the Employee Equity and sign off on minutes
- File the signed minutes from Employee Equity committee meeting
- Ensure Company is compliant with BBBEE diversity scorecards
- Provides input on the overall HR Budget
- Manage HR budget allocation
- Ensure compensation allocations are fair and within budget
Stakeholder Relationships
- Facilitate and maintain a sound working relationship with unions and union officials
- Establish and manage good relationships with community cooperatives
- Ensure good communication and working relationship with People and Culture Office
- Collaborate and maintain good working relationship with General Manager concerning people issues
- Ensure good working relationships and actively collaborate with consultants
Requirements:
Grade 12
Relevant tertiary education
Valid Drivers and own transport
Ability to work on a Mine outside of Middelburg
Clear criminal background checks – as per Operational Requirements
