Minimum Requirements:
Minimum of a Masters degree; preferably a Doctoral degree; specialising in any of the following fields: Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, Statistics, Data Science, or any related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a higher education environment, with at least 3 years at a management level. Experience in the analysis of large data sets, data modeling or database design using SQL or similar languages Experience in using business intelligence and data visualisation software (e.g. PowerBI or PowerHEDA). Advanced proficiency in major Microsoft applications, such as Excel (data analysis with creating high-level functions and Pivot Tables etc.), Visio, and other applications. An understanding of student performance data and HEMIS reporting. Experience in policy formulation, strategy development, and procedure implementation. Knowledge of data management frameworks. Additional requirements:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A high level of integrity in handling sensitive information. A strong background in data analysis, interpretation and presentation. Critical thinking, high-level analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills. Strong project management skills. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyse and interpret data using complex programming, statistical and business intelligence tools. Conduct environmental scans related to developments in national and international higher education Deliver reports and presentations of findings to the university community and external stakeholders in a way that can be easily understood by people of diverse backgrounds. Lead the development of self-service dashboards and reports. Ensure consistency in data analysis and develop predictive models. Collaborate with university colleagues to provide actionable insights. Manage and implement special projects as directed by senior leadership. Support data acquisition, integration and description; and assure data quality through partnership with relevant stakeholders on campus. Develop project plans, including resource needs, objectives and task dependencies Closing Date: 6 June 2025
