Milnerton Our client, an National and ever growing Clearing and Forwarding Company in Milnerton is seeking to employ an experience Client Service Controller - Ocean ExportQUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE- Minimum qualification of Grade 12, SDS and/ or Freight Forwarding Course or similar will be advantageous
- Minimum of 3 years within a clearing & forwarding environment
- Prior CargoWise experience non negotiable
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Incoterms, Ocean Export tariffs, practices, and processes
- Knowledge of Customs and other Third-Party Governing / Statutory Body clearance procedures
JOB DESCRIPTION/KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Excellent client service and pro active client communication/s re any delays
- Ensure timely dispatch of cargo for clients
- Take timeous action to avoid or mitigate additional cost/s
- Paperless working environment
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry into CW including mandatory milestones, full set of documents and relevant correspondence to be saved to
- eDoc Tab of shipment as per Standard Operating Procedures
- All internal comms re shipments on CW. Task Team, Brokerage, Transport
- Track and trace shipments as required
- Check and follow up all required documentation and detail to enable customs clearance in accordance with relevant laws and legislation
- Ensure that documentation on hand to secure release from Shipping Line / Groupage Agent and any Third Party governing bodies within required time frames
- Follow up to ensure release of required equipment at least of 3 working days prior to vessel's stacks
- Arrange examinations, extended release and inspections of any Customs and Third Party stops / detentions
- Process cargo dues
- Ensure timeous receipt of creditor invoice/s, check that freight and landside costs invoiced as per standard or agreed tariffs
- Post creditor's invoices and request COD/ EFT payment where credit terms not secured
- Responsible for job profit. Complete job costing and ensure billing accurate, complete and as per agreed client rates / estimate
- Ensure billing completed within agreed KPI's
- CW Status Reports minimum of x 3 a week or as per client SOP. If client has elected Smart Sheet, info and changes to be updated daily
- Resolve client, service providers and internal queries professionally and timeously
- Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures
- Arrange Insurance cover where required and process claims
- Undertake all mandatory training as required and participate in appropriate training as and when required
- Take responsibility for being up to date with current policies and procedures and to adhere to these
- To undertake any other ad-hoc operational duties requested by the National Manger Ocean Exports and National Operations Executive
- Maintain effective working relationships with all relevant stakeholders, both internal and external
- Ensure work is up to date and a comprehensive review and handover is completed prior to going on leave
- Ensure client info is kept updated in CW
- Participate in Team meetings and suggest improvements to increase efficiencies
- Contribute to Team goals and achieve your personal individual development plan and goals
