Qualifications and Experienceâ?¼ Matric
â?¼ A recognized and relevant technical qualification (Typical S4 or N6. Electrical or Mechanical
Engineering)
â?¼ At least 3-5 years work experience in the diesel generators industry, with experience in a similar position being preferred.
â?¼ CAD experience will be an advantage.
â?¼ Computer Literacy Microsoft Office and MS Projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
Proposals / Sales:
â?¼ Take responsibility for tender documents and quotations within the organization.
This will include costing schedules.
â?¼ Ensure that tenders and quotations meet the company and the customer's commercial terms and conditions.
â?¼ Review customer specifications to ensure compliance (commercially and technically).
â?¼ Gather and compile all returnable documentation and attachments required as part of the tender submission.
â?¼ Perform cost calculations to determine project margins and selling price and confirm stock availability.
â?¼ Inter-phase with customers, Company, branches and business units regarding related tenders/quotations.
â?¼ Formulate the best possible solution to meet customer requirements.
â?¼ Ensure all technical literature included as part of the tender document is the most relevant and up-to-date information.
â?¼ Regularly obtain the latest prices for costing purposes from all the group companies/organizations and preferred suppliers.
â?¼ Assist the Business Development team with technical clarifications and evaluate design complexity for costing purposes.
â?¼ Review and interpret SLD (Single Line Diagrams) for costing purposes.
â?¼ Summarize tenders for ease of evaluation.
â?¼ Conduct site inspections if required as part of the tender process and gather all necessary information needed to compile an accurate quotation / tender document.
Customers:
â?¼ Assist external and internal customers with technical queries.
â?¼ Provide technical support to customers.
â?¼ Regularly following up with clients as to the status/success of tenders/quotations submitted
and part take in pre-order negotiations.
â?¼ Ability to do product launches and exhibit trade shows.
â?¼ Build and maintain customer relationships and generate new business.
Other:
â?¼ General Sales Administration
â?¼ Continuously improve internal systems and procedures.
â?¼ Product training (internally & externally)

â?¼ Process Sales orders for both CODs and account customers via SYSPRO as per ZWE QMS STDs including: order confirmation back to clients, issuing of delivery notes and invoices.
