Mining company based in Brits is looking for a Risk Officer with mining experience. Qualifications and experience:- Grade 12
- Computer literate
- National diploma in safety management or studying towards a national diploma.
- Risk and Safety Management courses.
- Be familiar with different Acts e.g., MHSA (Not negotiable), Environmental, Industry specific legislative/ statutory/ regulatory requirements, Labour related Acts, Administrative Acts etc.
- Complete and comprehensive advanced computer literacy
- Extensive experience in IBRA, BLRA, Task based and Continuous based risk assessments.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in mining or processing
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in SHERQ management systems.
- Minimum 5 years in Risk Management systems and Management of change systems
- Must have a valid drivers license and own transport.
- Good general health and requires a certificate of fitness.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Facilitating drafting and updating of corporate hazards / risk identification and profiling.
- Facilitating drafting and updating of the mines and sectional Baseline Risk Assessments.
- Facilitate baseline risk assessment workshops with vertical slice of employees consisting of the relevant HOD’s, employees, contractors, suppliers, and unions.
- Facilitate issue-based risk assessment when new products, services, machinery, equipment, structures, plant and processes are introduced and the subsequent updating of the baseline risk assessment.
- Supervise Contractors and Suppliers to ensure issue-based risk assessment are conducted material, products, machinery, equipment, and services before it is allowed on the mine.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and health and safety requirements.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey information to various stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. High aptitude toward analytical tasks
- Display a high level of strategic thinking, planning and problem-solving skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office packages.
