SAEWA (South African Workers Association) is a fast-growing, member-driven union dedicated to serving and protecting the rights of workers. We pride ourselves on professionalism, a non-political stance, and a progressive approach to labor relations. We are seeking a Junior Union Official to join our passionate team.
Key Responsibilities:
Represent and advocate for members in disciplinary hearings, grievances, and workplace disputes. Assist with recruitment drives and promote the benefits of SAEWA membership to potential members. Provide guidance and support to members regarding labor laws, workplace rights, and union policies. Build and maintain strong relationships with members, employers, and key stakeholders. Attend and actively participate in union meetings, workshops, and events. Maintain accurate records of member interactions and union activities.Requirements:
Matric certificate (Grade 12). Relevant experience in labor relations, human resources, or a similar environment (experience with unions will be an advantage). Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and handle conflict effectively. Willingness to travel and participate in union activities outside normal working hours. Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle. Not a requirement but will be advantages. Knowledge of labor laws and bargaining council procedures (advantageous).What We Offer:
