Description:
Create detailed engineering drawings and models (bulk earthworks, sewer, stormwater, and water) using Civil 3D and AutoCAD
Collaborate with engineers and project teams to understand requirements and produce accurate technical documentation
Review design documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry and municipal standards
Coordinate services across disciplines within each project scope
Modify and update existing CAD drawings throughout the project lifecycle
Maintain organized CAD libraries and documentation for efficient workflow
Assist with preparation of project documentation including tenders, bills of quantities, specifications, and civil services reports
Conduct occasional site visits and support quality control processes
Skills & Experience:
Solid understanding of project stages from inception to closeout
Experience working on a variety of projects (commercial, residential, industrial), particularly those involving municipal councils
Familiarity with engineering drawing standards, construction documentation, and relevant building codes
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards
Valid drivers license and own vehicle required for site visits and meetings
Certifications in Civil 3D and AutoCAD are advantageous
Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and SABS 1200 (for bill of quantities) is preferred
Minimum requirements
National Diploma or BTech in Civil Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
Proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD, with a strong focus on drafting speed and accuracy
Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
