Description:
National Manufacturing company in the steel industry requires a Junior Industrial Engineer to assist in improving processes, eliminating inefficiencies and to drive operational excellence
Requirements:
- Evaluate and analyze current production processing within all departments.
- Identify gaps and inefficiencies within the processes
- Design and implement systems and processes to improve resource optimization (people skills and improve usage of machinery and tools for accuracy and cost effectiveness)
- Do time studies and collect data within all departments in Production – document the findings and make recommendations to improve production output.
- Ensure that the production plan is managed accordingly and that it is adhered to.
- Be able to report on production figures daily / weekly / monthly.
- Discuss production updates as well as any faults / downtime to the Production Manager.
- Assist with any urgent jobs that may have to be done.
- Assist with health and safety protocols in the factory.
- Industrial Engineering qualifications - mandatory
- 2-3 years of working experience in the manufacturing industry.
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
- Must be able to communicate effectively
- Must be able to work under pressure and must be good with time management.
- Must be able to work outside of normal working hours (including weekends).
- Must work as part of a team and be able to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- High proficiency in MS Office, with particular focus on Excel.
- Able to read drawing preferred
