Minimum requirements:Relevant Degree OR Trade Test applicable ECSA Registered 5 years DMS and Recovery or separation technology environment experience Duties and responsibilities:
Develop and execute maintenance and procurement strategies aligned with the overall business objectives and operational plan Ensure maximum plant availability through effective maintenance and resource planning Contribute to setting and achieving production targets in collaboration with the operations team Drive human capital development by promoting individual growth, enabling succession planning, and facilitating ongoing training initiatives Prepare and justify capital and strategic expenditure proposals for submission to the Plant Manager Create and manage the Engineering Departments budget, ensuring cost-effective operations Oversee the implementation and execution of a structured maintenance planning system Build and maintain strong relationships with service providers and external vendors Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations Enforce Health and Safety standards across all engineering operations Compile, analyze, and deliver engineering and maintenance reports to the Plant Manager Supervise resource allocation and availability to support ongoing plant maintenance requirements Maintain operational discipline by managing timekeeping, attendance, overtime, and employee conduct Promote a positive, high-performing workplace culture within the engineering team Adhere to all safety, health, environmental, and security protocols in the work environment Possess expert knowledge of diamond processing operations, including DMS (Dense Medium Separation) and Recovery circuits Apply sound engineering principles and best practices in all technical operations Demonstrate strong technical problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement Maintain a comprehensive understanding of HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) legislation relevant to mining and mineral processing Perform effectively under pressure while leading a professional, multidisciplinary team Possess a well-rounded set of financial, technical, and legal competencies Understand and implement engineering codes, guidelines, and standards Apply in-depth knowledge of maintenance systems, practices, and principles Proficient in using basic computer applications and Microsoft Office tools Exhibit strong coaching abilities to support team growth and development Collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment
