Key Responsibilities:

Supervision:
- Effectively supervise work on isolated and earthed apparatus.
- Ensure adherence to all safety procedures and protocols.

Work Permits:
- Accept and manage work permits for operations involving isolated and earthed apparatus.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the permit system and safety protocols.

Access Control:
- Control access to restricted and prohibited areas, ensuring only authorized personnel are present.

Knowledge of ORHVS:
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act Responsible Person (ORHVS) regulations.

Safety Responsibility:
- Ensure the safety of oneself and team members by complying with Eskom's safety procedures and protocols.

Risk Assessment:
- Identify and assess risks related to assigned tasks and implement appropriate control measures.

Pre-Work Planning:
- Conduct pre-work planning, including task allocation, risk assessments, and control measures preparation.

Documentation:
- Accurately document strategies, maintain a current workers register, risk assessments, and pre-work checklists.

Delegation:
- If applicable, manage and maintain a workers register for the supervision delegated to authorized supervisors.
Qualifications and Skills:

ORHVS Certification:
- Formal certification as an ORHVS Responsible Person is required.

Relevant Trade Qualification:
- A trade qualification in electrical engineering or a related field is necessary.

Knowledge of Eskom Regulations:
- Comprehensive understanding of Eskoms operating regulations and safety procedures.

Supervisory Skills:
- Proven ability to supervise and lead a team effectively.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with team members and stakeholders.
