HP Smit & Seuns is a growing agricultural enterprise specializing in potato farming across the Western Cape. With over 200 employees, the company is committed to sustainable practices, operational excellence, and a compliant, supportive work environment. The succesful candidate will be based in Piketberg.
The successful candidate will manage all HR functions across multiple farm locations, ensuring compliance with labour legislation and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Key responsibilities include: *Run all HR operations across multiple farm locations *Ensure clock times for all wage workers are correct and verified by their managers *Ensure compliance with South African labour laws and the Employment Act *Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and employee records *Handle recruitment, onboarding, training, and development *Manage employee relations and resolve workplace issues *Coordinate with management on workforce planning and performance management *Conduct regular internal audits to ensure HR compliance *Serve as the key liaison with regulatory authorities and manage labour inspections *all other tasks related to the position.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management or related field;
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar HR management role;
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation, especially the Employment Act;
• Experience working in an agricultural or multi-site environment preferred;
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills;
• Fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English);
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office);
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between premises.
