HP Smit & Seuns is a growing agricultural enterprise specializing in potato farming across the Western Cape. The succesful candidate will be based in Piketberg.The successful candidate will manage all HR functions across multiple farm locations, ensuring compliance with labour legislation and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Key responsibilities include: *Run all HR operations across multiple farm locations *Ensure clock times for all wage workers are correct and verified by their managers *Ensure compliance with South African labour laws and the Employment Act *Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and employee records *Handle recruitment, onboarding, training, and development *Manage employee relations and resolve workplace issues *Coordinate with management on workforce planning and performance management *Conduct regular internal audits to ensure HR compliance *Serve as the key liaison with regulatory authorities and manage labour inspections *all other tasks related to the position.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management or related field;
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar HR management role;
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation, especially the Employment Act;
• Experience working in an agricultural or multi-site environment preferred;
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills;
• Fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English);
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office);
• Vaid driver’s license and willingness to travel between premises.
