The Group Estimating Manager at our Company is pivotal in ensuring successful bid outcomes by overseeing the entire bid process, engaging clients, refining bid management procedures, and leading proposal development efforts to deliver high-quality solutions. The role entails leading and coordinating multiple estimating teams across the different Divisions and geographic regions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Core Responsibilities:
Oversees the whole bidding process, from start to finish, ensuring team adherence to standards and meeting of?all deadlines. Leading and coordinating multiple estimating teams across the different organisational divisions and regions. Developing and implementing standardized estimating procedures and best practices.
- Reviewing and approving large cost estimates before submission to clients.
- Managing relationships with key subcontractors and suppliers.
- Analysing market conditions and competition to ensure competitive bidding strategies.
- · Strategic Elements: Working closely with senior management to align estimating strategies with company goals. Identifying new business opportunities and target markets
- Engaging senior management in making go/no-go decisions on potential tenders.
- Developing win strategies for priority tenders.
- Managing risk assessment for tender estimates.
- · Team Leadership: Mentoring and developing estimating staff.
- Coordinating resources across multiple estimating teams.
- Setting performance targets and conducting regular reviews.
- Ensuring teams have necessary tools and relevant software.
- Building and maintaining high-performing estimating department/s.
- · Technical Skills: Expert knowledge of construction methods and materials.
- Proficiency in estimating software and digital take-off tools.
- Strong understanding of contract types and bidding procedures.
- Ability to analyse complex tender documentation.
- Knowledge of construction law and contract administration.

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA Education: Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying, OR Construction Management OR Engineering
- Post-graduate qualification will be advantageous but is not mandatory.
- · Experience: 10-15 years of construction estimating experience.
- 5+ years in a senior estimating role.
- Experience managing large-scale/ Design and Build/ Public Private Partnership bids.
