JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for growing and managing the portfolio of thermal and acoustic insulation products in the building construction, plumbing, and mining sectors. The representative is expected to visit project sites, meet with relevant professionals and building contractors to ensure the use of the company’s products on projects. This will involve formal presentations, arranging webinars, and conducting site meetings. The role covers the SADC region, so some cross-border travel may be required. The representative is expected to build and maintain a network and database of projects and the relevant connections across SADC.

JOB SPECIFICATION:

  • Investigate and qualify quoting opportunities for the range of thermal and acoustic insulation products
  • Host and conduct training presentations and webinars to HVACR and/or plumbing contractors as well as professional teams (PR, ENG, QS, Architect, etc.)
  • Build and maintain a central file of customer contacts and decision-makers and keep it up to date
  • Assist in opening new accounts and setting credit terms for new customers
  • Monitor and ensure payment of invoices/accounts
  • Stay up to date on customer affairs to avoid defaults
  • Prompt and accurate submission of customer complaints and quality concerns
  • Manage existing portfolio of wholesaler accounts
  • Ensure that price updates are communicated promptly to customers
  • Align the company’s capabilities with customer requirements:
    • Customer orders processed upon receipt
    • Orders checked for item code, price, quality, required date, and delivery address
    • Production planning requirements coordinated with PPC
    • Stock holding requirements coordinated with the Logistics department
    • Plan and maintain sufficient import stock levels to meet project demands
  • Utilise L2B to track projects and LinkedIn to identify key stakeholders
  • Report to Sales Manager on meetings and key activities weekly
  • Report to Exco on results monthly, including:
  • Target vs Actual – Quarter to date
  • Reasons/drivers for excess or shortfall
  • New projects/RFQs of interest
  • Market conditions

  • Minimum 5 years sales experience within the HVACR industry and/or sales of insulation products
  • Detailed understanding of procurement processes in the building construction and/or mining sector
  • Comfortable with planning and reporting of sales activities
  • Proven track record of success in previous sales roles
  • Experience with stock planning and control
  • Willingness to travel and work remotely
  • Competency with Microsoft Office suite

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5 years sales experience within the HVACR industry and/or sales of insulation products
  • Detailed understanding of procurement processes in the building construction and/or mining sector
  • Comfortable with planning and reporting of sales activities
  • Proven track record of success in previous sales roles
  • Experience with stock planning and control
  • Willingness to travel and work remotely
  • Competency with Microsoft Office suite
