Production Cook

Description:

Somerset West - A ready meal manufacturer who is committed to delivering high-quality, delicious, and nutritious meals to their customers is seeking to employ a Production Cook or Production Chef to join their team.

• The ideal candidate will have experience in food production, be comfortable using industrial kitchen equipment and understand food safety compliance.
  
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook large-scale batches according to set recipes
• Operate commercial cooking equipment (tilt skillets, stock pots, industrial mixers)
• Ensure consistent quality and portion control
• Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards
• Assist with meal packaging, portioning and production workflow

Candidate Requirements:

• Proven experience in batch cooking, catering, or food production
• Ability to follow standardised recipes and meet high consistency standards
• Familiarity with commercial kitchen operations and food safety protocols
• Physical capability to lift 25kg and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Team player with attention to detail and a strong work ethic
• HACCP certification or food manufacturing experience (Preferred but not a requirement)

Additional Work Environment Infomation:

• Structured, stable hours (Typically 8am-5pm) / No late or weekend shifts
• On the job training
• Starting date: As soon as possible
