Description:

Job Title: Researcher
Location: Office-Based – Woodstock, Cape Town
Employment Type: Full-Time
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, aligned with UK business hours
Company: UK-Based Recruitment Firm – Construction Industry

About Us

We are a UK-based recruitment company with a strong focus on the construction industry. With a growing global support team based in Cape Town, we are expanding our research function to help drive delivery across our client projects. We work with some of the leading construction firms in the UK, and our work plays a key role in connecting top talent with exciting opportunities.

Role Overview

We are looking for a bright and detail-oriented Researcher to join our team in Woodstock, Cape Town. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone early in their career who is looking to gain experience in research, data analysis, and the UK market.

You’ll be responsible for supporting our recruitment consultants with market research, data mapping, and talent identification. This is not a sales role – the focus is on behind-the-scenes work that lays the foundation for successful recruitment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify companies, projects, and key individuals in the UK construction sector.

  • Build and maintain talent maps and organisational charts.

  • Use tools such as LinkedIn, internal databases, and online directories to gather and verify data.

  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate records within our CRM system.

  • Provide regular reporting and insights to consultants to support strategic outreach.

  • Assist with ad hoc administrative and project-based tasks as required.

What We’re Looking For

  • Recent graduate, or someone with 1–2 years of experience in a research, data, or admin-based role.

  • Strong analytical and research skills – naturally curious and thorough.

  • Confident using online tools and platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Excel, Google Sheets).

  • Excellent attention to detail and highly organised.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with clear deadlines.

  • Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently.

  • No prior recruitment experience is required – full training will be provided.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a UK business with a global reach and a growing presence in Cape Town.

  • Work in a dynamic, supportive team where your contributions truly matter.

  • Learn about the construction sector and gain valuable commercial and research skills.

  • Opportunity for long-term career development within the business.
