Maintenance Artisan/Maintenance Engineer/Millwright
Role Description
The maintenance artisan/Engineer required is a skilled tradesperson to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems to ensure equipment operates efficiently and minimizes downtime.
Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal technical condition of an advanced machine park, including:
· Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on complex machine lines.
· Electrical & PLC fault finding
· Perform routine inspections, lubrication, and cleaning of AC and DC motors and related equipment.
· Installation of new machinery as and when required, to ensure installation is carried out in accordance with engineering instructions.
· Managing water purification systems.
· Being the first point of contact for all technical matters related to production lines and building-related installations.
· Do fault finding on machine breakdowns to determine method of rectification.
· Supervising contractors and suppliers during maintenance, modifications, and repairs.
· Ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene regulations.
· Identifying and reporting unsafe situations or deviations.
· Being available outside office hours for troubleshooting and emergency support.
· Liaise with Factory Manager in accordance to comply with workload requirements and ensure order of priorities is maintained.
· Attend meetings on a weekly basis to report back on maintenance
Experience & Qualification
The ideal candidate will have:
· Technical knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical systems, and PLC controls.
· Experience working with DC, AC motors and drives
· Experience working in FMCG – Cosmetic/Pharmaceutical (Preferable)
· Mechanical knowledge and experience (preferable)
· A completed Engineering qualification /Trade – Preferably a MILLWRIGHT
· Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings
