We require the services of a Mechanic to join our team in a fast paced and energetic environment.
The incumbent is responsible for the planning and organising of the workload in the workshop to maximise effective manpower utilisation and cost effective maintenance and repairs to vehicles.
The main purpose of the position is; co-ordinate, supervise and participate in the repair and servicing of all makes and models of vehicles within the Companies’ fleet (mainly Nissan NP200, 300, Isuzu, Hilux, Ford Ranger).
Requirements:
- Mechanic: 5 to 6 years
- Service And Repair : 2 to 3 years
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
* Qualified Mechanic (Petrol & Diesel) – Trade Certificate (N5 / Level 4 – Motor Mechanic)
* 3-5 Years experience working independently as a Mechanic
* 3+ Years experience in supervising a team of Junior Mechanics
* 2+ Years experience in managing a vehicle service and repair workshop
* Experience in towing a vehicle using a “sling back”
* Electrical
* Dealt with paperwork in regards to the above requirements

* Computer Literacy (MS Office)
* Articulate and able to communicate on all levels – face to face and telephonically
* Planning & Organisational skills
* Ability to deliver against deadlines and/or adapt and prioritise work output as and when required
ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Diagnose engine, transmission, brake system, fuel system, engine cooling system, suspension system, and engine assembly, and other mechanical and auto electrical problems quickly and accurately
* Determine priority of work orders and their assignments to personnel; plan; organise and schedule work flow of
* Employees, assure timely complete of work
* Initiate requisitions for materials and equipment
* Maintain adequate inventory of parts, equipment and supplies used in repairing and servicing vehicles
* Monitor tools, tool room equipment, and maintenance and safety practices
* Quality control and inspections on all workmanship and vehicles, prior to being released from workshop
* Complete and or ensure all tasks as reflected on job cards in accordance to quality standards
* Attend to all breakdowns during office hours and after hours
* Test drive and perform quality checks on all vehicles completed by direct support and ensure quality work performed
