Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Diesel Mechanic with experience working on heavy-duty mining machinery to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of diesel-powered mining equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults in mining equipment such as haul trucks, excavators, loaders, dozers, drills, and graders.
- Conduct scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
- Perform inspections and safety checks to comply with company and regulatory standards.
- Replace or repair worn components including engines, transmissions, turbochargers, fuel systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic software.
- Maintain detailed maintenance logs and reports using CMMS or manual systems.
- Operate lifting and diagnostic tools safely and efficiently.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth operation of site equipment.
- Adhere to all workplace health and safety regulations and participate in toolbox talks and training.

- Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Diesel Fitter.
- Experience working with large-scale mining machinery (e.g., Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, Liebherr) - advantage
- Valid driver’s license
- High level of physical fitness and the ability to work in challenging conditions.
- Knowledge of safety systems and procedures in mining or heavy industry environments.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical.
- Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Diesel Fitter.
- Experience working with large-scale mining machinery (e.g., Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, Liebherr) - advantage
- Valid driver’s license
- High level of physical fitness and the ability to work in challenging conditions.
