A leading organisation in the mining sector is seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Blaster to join their team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring all blasting operations are conducted efficiently, safely, and in compliance with statutory, legal, and SHERQ requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure all necessary accessories for blasting are correctly drawn from the magazine. Conduct pre-use vehicle inspections and complete checklists. Prepare the blast area according to all legal and company safety protocols, including priming, pumping, stemming, and timing design. Approve and execute blasting operations while ensuring the safety of the area. Perform post-blast inspections and declare the area safe. Complete all required administration and reporting. Supervise Blasting Assistants and mixer-placer trucks. Address and escalate disciplinary matters when necessary. Allocate and oversee housekeeping tasks for the blasting team.Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12 with Mathematics. Blasting Ticket Permit (PDP). Magazine Master Certificate. At least 2 years of demonstrated blasting or blasting assistance experience. 3 years of experience in a mining or explosives environment. EE Disclaimer:
