Description:
Duties:Food Preparation: Washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients. Assisting with the preparation of salads, sandwiches, and other dishes. Measuring and assembling ingredients for cooking.
Cleaning and Sanitation: Washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils. Cleaning kitchen surfaces, equipment, and appliances. Maintaining hygiene standards in the kitchen. Operating dishwashers. Emptying and cleaning trash receptacles.
Restocking and Storage: Unloading and storing food deliveries. Restocking kitchen supplies and ingredients. Organizing and maintaining the kitchen's storage areas.
Other Tasks: Assisting chefs and kitchen staff with various tasks as needed. Preparing simple food items. Packing food and beverage trays for serving. Removing and recycling waste from the kitchen.
Requirements:
Grade 12
A formal cooking qualification will be an advantage
Basic food preparation skills, strong hygiene standards, the ability to follow instructions,
Knowledge of Hygiene and Food Safety standards
Clear communication skills with kitchen staff and supervisors are essential for efficient workflow.
Time Management skills
Physical Stamina
Able to work effectively as part of a kitchen team is essential.
