We have an amazing opportunity for a Brand Manager to be based in Umhlanga, Durban. Do you think you have what it takes to be our newest Purple Star?

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing any aspect of marketing that has to do with the company’s brand, and ensuring that all branding decisions ultimately result in stronger sales. The ideal candidate will need to formulate a brand strategy for our target markets and act as the ‘brand custodian’ to maintain brand integrity. The Brand Manager will work with the Product Marketing and Product team to ensure that Hollywoodbets’ products and services, as well as how we align our brand in the market place and the brand tools we make use of, resonate with current or potential customers. In addition, they monitor marketing trends as well as keep an eye on competitive companies in the marketplace so we can stay ahead of competition.

You Bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar position
  • Experience is required in:
    • Brand strategy
    • Retail and online campaigns
    • Media campaigns
    • Stakeholder relations
    • Excellent organisation and communication skills
    • Proven negotiation, leadership and people skills
  • Proven writing skills, backed up by a portfolio
  • Valid driver’s license

A bonus to have:

  • Degree in Marketing, Business or MBA


What You’ll Do For The Brand:

  • Conduct market research in order to keep up to date with customer trends, as well as trying to predict future trends.
  • Develop strategies and manage brand marketing campaigns across print, broadcast and online platforms to ensure that products and services meet customers’ expectations and to build the credibility of brands.
  • Analyse the success of brand marketing campaigns and create reports.
  • Supervise advertising, product design and other forms of marketing to maintain consistency in branding.
  • Meet with clients and work with colleagues across multiple departments.
  • Manage budgets and a team of managers, coordinators and assistants.
  • Promote brand growth and expansion, implementing brand plans, and using a variety of data to drive volume and profitability. In their essence, brand managers are focused on achieving brand business objectives in the short and long term.
  • Identify research needs, execute research studies and projects, and analyze research in order to identify opportunities
  • Measure competitor activity and report on this.
  • Establish and maintain brand budgets.
  • Define and manage the brand communication strategy using a variety of media for the internal team and externa market.
  • Own the development and messaging of the brand narrative.
  • Create, execute, and manage marketing programs and campaigns.
  • Identify, plan and drive initiatives / campaigns to continually embed Hollywoodbets’ principles.
  • Create positive collaboration between all pillars reporting to the Brand Manager.
  • Meet all stakeholders’ needs in line with Hollywoodbets’ corporate vision.
  • Review, track, advise and report on supporting operational plans to ensure the effective and efficient implementation of the Hollywoodbets’ strategies and goals.
  • Own, oversee and guide the team alignment to the brand and overall culture and Brand Ambassador engagement strategy.
  • Identify, plan and drive initiatives to support Hollywoodbets’ value proposition.
  • Leverage the existing tools and functions in place to cement our brand in the market place.
  • Custodian of the brand and maintain brand integrity.
  • Must possess excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Must be able to support media, retail, brand, CSI, online, activation pillars.
  • Effectively resolve escalated issues and implement measures to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Define, continuously improve and drive adoption of the processes, governance, tools and technology, methods and standards to establish optimal practices.
  • Coach and develop Team to improve individual performances and ensure a culturally aligned team.
  • Have regular, quality performance development conversations and drive the required action to support team members' growth and contribution to the team and company culture.
  • Professionally represent Hollywoodbets at all times.
