Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an opportunity available for an Application Development Manager to join the team at our head office in Midrand. The role involves developing modern applications, configuration, and integrating with SAP and non-SAP systems.
Minimum Requirements…
Essential:
- Matric or equivalent Senior Certificate
- Degree in BCom / BSc or related field
- Minimum of 3 - 4 years of experience in ABAP development and similar
Advantageous :
- Certification in SAP ABAP and similar
- SAP Frontend Development with SAPUI5/Fiori and similar
Job Specification…
Application Development:
- Understand the business requirements, preparing AS-IS, and TO-BE documents and get sign-off from functional and/or technical design document(s).
- Provide business case input in terms of benefits and risks.
- Design end to end solutions (architecture).
- Go-Live preparation and post Go-Live Support. Willingness and ability to work on weekends and public holidays on implementation and operations (IT Support) related tasks.
- Exploring new technologies, developing proofs of concept.
System Support:
- Conduct and/or support testing activities, for example: unit testing, system integration tests, regression testing, user acceptance testing, security testing.
- Receive, troubleshoot, resolve, and close operational and maintenance tickets as per the SLA’s.
- Troubleshoot system defects (debugging) timeously.
- Update and maintain documentation as an existing system’s functionality is changed.
- Ability and willingness to coach and give training to fellow colleagues and users when required.
Stakeholder Management:
- Interaction with clients through meetings, calls and emails.
- Engage with the clients and Functional Consultants effectively with supervision from team lead.
General:
- Adhere to Dis-Chem Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Adhere to Health and Safety rules and regulations.
Competencies
Essential:
- Knowledge- SAP Functional knowledge in SAP MM, FI and Retail. SAP Best practice development standards/guidelines. Experience in Jira.
- Cognitive Skills- Ability to interpret business requirements with the ability to move concepts through to proposal and finally successful implementation. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Interpersonal Skills- Build constructive working relationships characterized by a high level of acceptance, cooperation, and mutual respect.
- Communication Skills- Ability to convey highly technical information to non-technical individuals so it’s easy to understand.
- Self-Management Skills- Strong work ethics, comfortable with deadlines. Take a proactive approach to the software development/design process. Self-starter attitude takes initiative and can work without constant supervision, and self-motivated to learn new technologies and upskill on the job continuously.
- Leadership Skills- Flexibility to take up different tasks in the project and maintenance environment; willing and able to multitask.
- Technical skills- ABAP development inclusive of: ABAP Object Oriented Programming, SAP Enhancement Framework, Function Modules, Reports, AVL Reports, EDI-IDOC, OData Services, CDS views, Adobe Forms, Smart Forms and SAP Scripts.
