Key Responsibilities & Daily Tasks:
Claims Management:
• Register and process motor and non-motor claims (including household contents, building, all-risk, theft, and liability claims)
• Ensure accurate and timeous submission of claim documentation to relevant insurers
• Facilitate end-to-end claims handling, from registration to settlement and final follow up
Client Support & Communication:
• Serve as the main point of contact for clients throughout the claims process
• Proactively keep clients informed on the progress of their claims, providing clear updates and explanations
• Obtain all supporting documentation (e.g., damage photographs, claim forms, assessor reports)
• Arrange emergency services assistance (e.g., roadside assistance, burst geyser response) where necessary
Liaison & Coordination:
• Notify relevant insurers regarding claim submissions and ensure prompt engagement from underwriters/assessors
• Coordinate with assessors, ensuring timely assessments and client contact
• Clarify reasons for claim rejections or partial settlements and communicate these effectively to clients
• Ensure signed agreements of loss are obtained and submitted as required
Settlement & Post-Claim Administration:
• Review and analyse settlement offers, negotiating improved settlements where possible on behalf of clients
• Confirm replacement or payment completion and provide final confirmation to the client
• Arrange for salvage collection from the client when required
• Facilitate the removal of stolen/damaged items or written-off vehicles from policy schedules
• Update client records post-settlement to reflect changes in cover or assets
Claims Follow-Up:
• Conduct regular follow-ups with insurers to ensure claims are progressing within acceptable timeframes
• Track unresolved or delayed claims and escalate where necessary
• Maintain a structured system for monitoring open claims and follow-up actions
Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
• RE5 Certification (compulsory)
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role as a Claims Administrator/Consultant handling both motor and non-motor claims
• Experience in processing personal and commercial lines claims
• NQF Level 4 or 5 qualification (120 credits) in a financial services-related field
• Class of Business certification for both Personal and Commercial Lines (if applicable) • Own reliable transportation
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple claims simultaneously
