Description:
Qualifications- Matric (mandatory).
- SAMTRACK / NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
- Must be a qualified safety officer.Requirements
- At least 2 years experience in HSE operations, maintenance, or construction.
- Registration with SACPCMP or equivalent health and safety body (advantageous).
- Experience in health and safety legal compliance and incident management.
- Valid drivers license and own vehicle.
- ISO 9001:2015 ( advantage)
- Computer Literate
- Willing to work on Weekends (Standby) and holidays Duties
- Field / office based : In the field working with operational staff - 60% and 40% office based update admin / filing.
- Organize efficient and resourceful work plans.
- Perform work safely and efficiently to deliver quality results.
- Adhere and enforce operating procedures.
- Conduct and monitor Safety inspection.
- Communicating regularly with team members and management.
- Maintaining companys service area in a clean, organized, cost-effective, working order.
- up to date/ensure compliance with South African Health and Safety regulations and review existing policies.
- Support the implementation and development of OHS policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
- Identify potential hazards and risks in the workplace.
- Adhering to all companys rules and regulations.
- Investigate workplace Health and Safety incidents.
- Knowledge OHS training needs in the workplace.
- Conduct drills and exercises on how to manage emergency circumstances.
- Verify appropriate storage/safety of all equipment.
- Identify and review PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) needs and enforce the use of PPE in the work place .
- Act as in an advisory capacity to others and give guidance with regards to Health and Safety related topics.
- Train employees regarding Health and Safety.
- Perform risk assessments and implement preventive measures.
- Do inductions/onboarding for new employees regarding Health and Safety.
- Knowledge of SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) teams online system.
- QMS, (Quality Management Systems).
- Report on OHS related activities.
- Intervene in any unsafe act or activities that can potentially be dangerous or unsafe.
- Prepare Health and Safety files.
- Be alert and on the lookout for any Health and Safety violations.
- Innovative using own initiative.
- Knowledge of waste management / license and permits.
- MHI knowledge ( Major hazardous installations)
- Safety audits.
- Site visits.
