Key Responsibilities:
Engage in the design and development of multiple aerospace projects, applying a tailored systems engineering approach. Prepare Statements of Work for contracted electronic design engineers, outlining the design, manufacture, and delivery of avionics subsystems based on technical requirements specifications. Organize and oversee design reviews of avionics subsystems. Supervise the creation of mission firmware design specifications by developers, for use in specified avionics subsystems. Develop functional requirement specifications for in-house developed avionics subsystems. Prepare functional specifications for electronic test bench appliances and Windows-based test applications used to verify avionics subsystems. Manage the design and development of test bench appliances and Windows-based test applications by electronic engineers and software developers. Commission test bench appliances and test applications. Develop subsystem test procedures for the acceptance of avionics subsystems using electronic test appliances and software. Conduct verification testing of subsystems against test requirements using test appliances and applications. Participate in integrated system verification testing, with a focus on avionics subsystem performance. Oversee configuration control of avionics hardware and firmware, including firmware version numbers, hardware modifications, and serial numbers. Provide ongoing guidance to avionics engineers and firmware developers throughout the project lifecycle.Overseas travel to client sites may be required on occasion.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
A minimum of a B.Eng degree in Electronics Engineering. At least 5 years of experience in the military and/or commercial sectors, applying systems engineering principles and methodologies.Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
M.Eng degree in Electronics Engineering. Familiarity with GENESYS systems engineering modelling platform (SDL-based). Experience with managing DO-160G environmental testing (EMI, EMC, vibration, shock, etc.). Hands-on experience in electronics prototyping, including C firmware coding (STM32).Candidate Attributes:
