Our client in the Logistics Industry is seeking a Transport Planner to join their team

Duties and Responsibilities
Proactively keep customers informed about planned work and work in progress Keep customer informed on ability to take on work and actively chase for work to fill up capacity Overview must be shared with Operations Manager and Fleet Controllers to make decisions on what can be taken on Maintain a max of 40% import & 60% export work Weekly virtual meeting with customer on volumes forecast and service Confirming references, stock, turn ins TBA to be corrected with proper empty depot before work is executed Ensure instructions are closed within turnaround time of completing shipment Conducting research to identify potential customers & educate them on company’s offerings Instructions are added or updated immediately when information becomes available Follow-up on POD uploads with Fleet Controller POD verification is up to date before the end of your shift Managing customer accounts, providing ongoing assistance, and identifying opportunities for upselling or cross-selling Preparing weekly & monthly reports Preparing reports for management Achieve weekly & monthly budgeted target of container moves and revenue Ensure cost and selling are correct before verifying PODs POD verification is up to date before the end of your shift Instructions contain correct and clear information on what is required and what limitations are to execute (for example, operating hours, rates, required documents, etc Ensure instruction is correct before sending to finance
Minimum Requirements
Matric Post matric qualification Fleet management Industry understanding (also building relationships) System understanding Computer skills Must be prepared to work shift work which includes weekends
