This role is based in Johannesburg North.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the Financial Plan and Budget in line with the company’s strategic objectives. Present recommendations for approval to the MD.
- Conduct monthly financial reviews, analyzing departmental performance against budget. Address variances and implement corrective measures.
- Oversee and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions and system integrity, resolving any discrepancies promptly.
- Continuously review and enhance policies, procedures, and internal controls, ensuring compliance with GAAP, IFRS, Companies Act, Income Tax Act, VAT Act, and SOX.
- Manage and control financial access levels to ensure proper segregation of duties.
- Communicate and train relevant staff on updates to financial policies and procedures.
- Provide weekly financial insights to the Sales team, advising on pricing strategies and risk management.
- Prepare and present monthly trading accounts, interpreting variances per product and optimizing profitability.
- Oversee financial operations for group or affiliated companies, ensuring effective communication and risk mitigation.
- Manage third-party payments, ensuring compliance with policies and resolving supplier queries efficiently.
- Ensure the timely processing of creditors' payments and communicate credit policies to internal and external stakeholders.
- Review and reconcile general ledger accounts, identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective actions.
- Oversee the month-end and year-end financial closure to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Requirements:
- Bcom degree in Accounting/Finance related.
- Completed SAICA Articles.
- Proven experience in a Finance Manager role.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards.
- Expertise in budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
