Our client is looking for an experienced and dynamic Assistant Resident Manager to join their exceptional team at their prestigious 5-star game lodge. This position is ideal for a highly skilled hospitality professional with a proven track record in lodge management, front of house, and food & beverage operations. As the Assistant Resident Manager, you will assist in overseeing the lodge's day-to-day operations and lead by example to ensure our guests have an outstanding experience. Responsibilities:- Assist the Resident Lodge Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the lodge, ensuring a seamless guest experience.
- Manage and supervise the Front of House and F&B departments, with a strong focus on administrative management.
- Ensure efficient Front Office operations and maintain a smooth check-in/check-out process.
- Drive hospitality standards, innovating and improving service delivery to exceed guest expectations.
- Train, manage, and support staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Handle guest requests, complaints, and feedback, ensuring quick resolution and guest satisfaction.
- Maintain strong relationships with staff, guests, suppliers, and the local community.
- Oversee financial management, including cost control, budgeting, and reporting.
- Assist with the management of lodge operations in the absence of the Resident Lodge Manager.
- Maintain attention to detail in all aspects of operations, from guest services to administrative tasks.
- Work collaboratively with the management team to achieve broader organizational goals.
- Ensure that operational systems (NEBULA, OPERA, or similar PMS/POS) are effectively utilized.
- Maintain a well-spoken, presentable, and professional demeanor at all times.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar 5-star lodge management position.
- Matric (Grade 12) is essential.
- Proven skills and track record in Front of House and F&B management, with specific focus on Front of House Administrative Management.
- Strong Front Office Management experience.
- Well-spoken, well-presented, and guest-centric, with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Formal hospitality degree/diploma preferable.
- Experience managing, training, and motivating a team, with strong leadership and management skills.
- Strong administrative skills with the ability to handle financial and operational tasks.
- Proven ability to build relationships with guests, staff, the local community, and industry professionals.
- Ability to manage lodge operations in the absence of the Resident Lodge Manager.
- Strong initiative and lateral thinking ability to drive the lodge’s success.
- Attention to detail, with a diligent, self-motivated approach to meeting deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both with staff and guests.
- Ability to cope under pressure and resolve difficult situations.
- Experience with NEBULA and OPERA Systems or similar PMS/POS systems required.
- Knowledge of game reserve operations is essential.
- Computer literate and financially astute.
- Ability to work effectively with the broader goals of the group as required by Head Office.
