Description:
- The main purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive and effective legal advice in the fields of banking law and commercial recoveries.
- Drive legal processes for clients on complex legal challenges and disputes.
- Manage High Court and Magistrates Court Litigation including defended actions and opposed applications.
- Conduct research into a wide range of commercial law, financial law, and banking law matters and rendering of legal opinions where required.
- Due diligence investigations.
- Negotiate and finalise settlement agreements on behalf of client.
- Vetting and drafting of contracts.
- Briefing counsel where necessary and making occasional court appearances if required (Right of appearance is required);
- Build, manage and maintain client relationships:
- Sound knowledge of the National Credit Act and the Companies Act.
- Adherence to internal and external reporting structures.
- Proficient on court online and case lines.
- Constructive participation in business development as well as all firm related events including CSI activations
Competencies
- 3 -5+ years experience as a practicing attorney
Job requirements:
Strong Academics LLB degree or an equivalent appropriate legal qualification (preferably an LLM) An admitted attorney, (ideally within a corporate or investment banking legal environment or reputable banking and finance legal practice) To apply for this role please send your CV to
