Projects Engineer

Description:

• Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or Mechatronics or Electromechanical) from a Recognized Institution.
• 5 Years post qualification related work experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD / Autodesk Inventor and MS Projects.
• Must have a valid passport and be prepared to travel
  internationally (several times per year) to mine sites for the specific purpose of commissioning company equipment as well as for aftermarket technical support.
• Previous hands-on working experience integrating and commissioning new equipment on site (mining, construction or other); and have an understanding of the site working dynamics between the end client, project manager, equipment supplier and construction companies.
• The site work will require the candidate to be resourceful and able to think on his feet to ensure successful conclusion of the related site work.Duties
  
  • Responsible for managing contracts for the design, manufacturing and commissioning of company proprietary equipment.
  • The functional requirements for management of contracts includes:
  • Verify client scope of work and ensure full scope is provided to client.
  • Involve with equipment designs and checking of drawings.
  • Place all orders associated with the manufacturing and assembly of equipment on suppliers.
  • Establish and monitor manufacturing timelines to ensure completion of projects on time.
  • Ensure consistent quality of manufacture.
  • Communication with clients to ensure contractual compliance.
  • Manage all commercial issues relating to contracts i.e., costing, contract cash-flows and client invoicing.
  • Responsible for the commissioning of equipment manufactured.
  • Foster a professional cooperative working relationship with the financial and marketing departments.
  • Be involved in the tender / marketing process of the equipment in terms of design, costing, documentation and correspondence required by the marketing department.
  • Become actively involved in ensuring that the client after sales service levels are maintained / improved.
  • Conduct commissioning and aftersales service visits to clients.
