Civil Engineer
Cape Town or Johannesburg based
The role is offered as a two-year contract, with the potential for renewal.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Design:
Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to understand site requirements and design specifications. Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets and resource allocations tailored to client needs.Construction Oversight & Management:
Oversee the construction of telecom sites, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety standards. Coordinate with contractors, suppliers and local authorities to facilitate seamless project progress. Conduct site visits to monitor progress and provide on-site guidance, addressing any client concerns.Quality Assurance & Compliance:
Ensure all projects comply with local, national and international regulations and standards. Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure quality and safety compliance, meeting client expectations. Ensure that all projects meet the client's strict specifications and quality requirements.International Collaboration:
Work closely with diverse teams across different countries, adapting to various cultural and regulatory environments. Foster strong relationships with local stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.Client Reporting & Documentation:
Prepare and present detailed progress reports to clients and stakeholders. Maintain comprehensive project documentation and records, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on telecommunications and/or datacentre infrastructure.
Proven experience managing international projects and working in diverse cultural settings.
Strong understanding of telecom and datacentre site development processes and regulatory requirements.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Willingness to travel extensively and adapt to different working environments.
Languages: English. French and Portuguese are advantageous.
African regional and International work experience preferred.
