Our client is seeking a Claims Consultant to join their team.
The purpose of this role is to Administer all aspects relative to the preparation of Automotive Production Development Programme (APDP 2) claims, Duty Drawbacks (Item 521, 522, 536 and Tyre Levy claims), Form C2 and SMD certificates, EU and SADC declarations and any new product offerings
This position will suit an individual who has experience with APDP 2 claims, Duty Drawbacks, Form C2 and SMD certificates, EU and SADC declarations etc and working with Customs at SARS.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Attainment of budget/forecasts for submission of PI claims, Form C2 and SMD’s, EU and SADC Declarations and 521,522, 536 and Tyre Levy claims.
- Conduct investigations to ensure that claimable benefits are maximized
- Timeous and correct invoicing
- Gather all relevant information and documentation required for the preparation of claims and declarations and ensure completeness of these documents.
- Ensure all registers and client status reports are kept up to date.
- Ensure that accruals / duty reconciliations are updated monthly.
- Capture all necessary information for the generation of the claims and declarations.
- Generate claims and declarations.
- Attend to all queries relating to documents / claims / declarations.
- Monitor claims through to issue of PRC or payment of refund.
- Communicate regularly with clients on all matters pertaining to claims, declarations and input
- Advise clients when new claimable parts are identified
- Identify and resolve issues relating to high unclaimed duty balances
- Assist with the take-on process (new clients)
- Liaise with freight forwarders on document requirements
- Review variances on the report on imports
Minimum Requirements
- Post Matric qualification
- Experience (5 years+) within a clearing/freight forwarding environment
- knowledge of customs documentation and requirements OR an automotive component customs environment
- Working knowledge of the APDP regulations
- Strong mathematical and administration skills
- Advanced Excel Knowledge
