Mechatronics - PLC Technician

Description:

• Electro-mechanical Trade Test (e.g. Millwright) or equivalent
• Previous exposure to PLC and programming. Omron experience will be advantageous
• Technical experience with regards to mechanical and industrial electricity
• Electronic and IT knowledge or experience
• Fully bilingual (Afrikaans & English). Spanish or French would be an advantage
• Must have a valid drivers license and a valid / renewable passport
• Must be willing to travel mostly in South Africa but international travel will be a requirement from time to time Responsibilities:
  
  • Installation and commissioning of new machinery from inception to completion focusing on:
    o Electronics and IT
    o PLC and Automation
  • Reduce and minimize minor stoppages and time loss due to operational stops by providing after sales service, focusing on:
    o PLC assistance
    o Electronic and IT assistance
    o Mechanical and Electrical repairs and adjustments
  • Deal and follow up on costumer queries and complaints
  • Provide detailed feedback to the group to implement technical solutions.
  • Encourage a "learn from experience" culture within the technical team by sharing and re-applying technical knowledge to improve efficiency of the team.
