An Accountant

Description:

The role of the accountant is to assist in providing oversight over the accounting team and provide reporting support to the Financial Manager and Chief Financial Officer.

The duties will include but not limited to:

1. Management account preparation
2. Review of expense capturing reports from creditor clerk
3. Review of utility bill schedule and reconciliation
4. Creditors reconciliation review
5. Review of receipting schedule
6. Review of bank reconciliations
7. Bond statement processing
8. Accruals preparation
9. Monthly VAT 201s preparation
10. Manual journal preparation and posting (When required)
11. Inter- company loan account recon
12. Tenant Installation accounting
13. Property, plant and equipment record keeping
14. Audit file preparation and assisting auditors during the audit
15. Assistance with Financial statement drafting and preparation
16. Tax filings

Key Competencies / Skills
Completed SAIPA Articles BCom Financial Accounting degree 2-3 years experience in similar role if no articles has been completed Property experience is advantageous Good Excel Skills Analytical, organisational, interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) Ability to work under pressure Strong organisational and planning skills Mathematical skills Attention to detail and problem-solving skills Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work All other duties which may be reasonably expected by your manager or Director relating to your position as Accountant.The requirements listed above are representative of functions which are required as part of your position.
