Minimum qualifications:NQF Level 6 in an Information Technology related qualification. Any relevant certifications. Relevant 5 - 7 years experience in ICT Networking with specialties in the system and network management environment. Key responsibilities:
Network installation and configuration:
Installing, configuring, and maintaining network devices like routers, switches, firewalls, and access points. Network monitoring and troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving network performance issues, troubleshooting connectivity problems, and analysing network traffic. Network security management:
Implementing and enforcing network security policies, monitoring for potential threats, and managing security incidents. Network maintenance:
Performing routine maintenance tasks like software updates, firmware upgrades, and backup procedures. Capacity planning:
Assessing network capacity requirements and planning for future network expansions. Documentation and reporting:
Maintaining detailed network documentation and generating reports on network performance and usage. Technical skills:
In-depth knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, VLANs, etc.). Expertise in network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls). Proficiency in network management tools. Understanding of network security concepts (encryption, authentication, intrusion detection). Soft skills:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills to collaborate with users and other IT teams. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Time management and organizational skills.
