A top-tier bank in Kenya is seeking a Group Director, Operational Risk to spearhead the execution of its Group operational risk framework and drive risk resilience across the organization.About the Role:
Reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer, this high-impact position will focus on identifying, assessing, managing, and monitoring operational risks, with a strong emphasis on scenario analysis, risk appetite, and capital assessment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the roll-out and execution of the banks operational risk framework across all business units. Manage and mentor a high-performing operational risk team. Provide strategic insights to the Risk Management Committee to ensure well-informed decision-making. Collaborate closely with senior leadership to enhance the banks risk culture and develop clear, actionable risk dashboards.
Key Requirements:
Experience: 1015 years in risk operations, compliance, or financial risk management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Strong banking experience. Expertise: Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, operational risk management, and corporate governance. Strategic Leadership: Proven ability to develop and implement risk strategies at a Group level, ensuring business continuity and resilience. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with advanced proficiency in Excel. Outstanding stakeholder engagement and influencing skills to drive a proactive risk culture.
