Description:

Location: Initially remote (work-from-home) – a reliable internet connection is essential. The role will transition to an office-based position in Tzaneen once premises are secured.
Industry Advantage: Prior experience in the agriculture sector, particularly the fruit industry, is a significant advantage.

Our client is seeking a Product Specialist to join their team. This is a support-focused role servicing clients in the agriculture industry and reporting to the IT & Support Manager .

As part of the onboarding process, the successful candidate will travel to Cape Town for two weeks of initial job training .

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide remote and onsite support for bespoke software products.
  • Manage daily operations and administration within SQL-rich environments (including scripting and database management).
  • Act as the primary liaison between external customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Take full ownership of assigned help desk calls, ensuring effective troubleshooting, inter-departmental coordination , and adherence to escalation procedures.
  • Ensure timely and accurate help desk administration:
    • Logging, updating, tracking, and escalating calls as necessary.
  • Conduct ad hoc software testing before releasing updates to clients.
  • Assist with product installations, upgrades, and deployments.
  • Train clients on various software solutions as required.

  • Microsoft Office: 2 to 3 years
  • Microsoft Sql: 2 to 3 years
  • Help Desk Administration: 2 to 3 years
  • Strong communication skills – able to engage effectively with clients and colleagues.

  • Skilled at building and maintaining client relationships in a professional manner.
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for business needs.
