Our client, market leader in the manufacturing sector has a vacancy for an Assistant Financial Manager , based in the Umhlanga area
The Assistant Financial Manager will assume delegated responsibilities to assist the Financial Controlling and Reporting Managers, allowing them to concentrate on strategic initiatives. This position plays a key role in succession planning and enhancing the finance leadership pipeline
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare sales reports, monthly management accounts, and inventory ageing analyses.
- Consolidate Site Business Review Reports (SBR) and weekly COO reports.
- Maintain the fixed asset register and produce waste analysis reports.
- Perform monthly inventory valuations and participate in stock takes.
- Assist with hourly rate calculations and inventory reporting.
- Prepare and update tax information for SARS submissions.
- Compile tax returns via SARS e-filing and respond to SARS queries.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including foreign transactions.
- Assist in managing the audit process from planning to conclusion.
- Prepare and review Annual Financial Statements to ensure compliance with IFRS standards.
- Support the invoicing team and calculate customer rebates.
- Assist with cash flow forecasts and insurance management.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including CIPC, Companies Act, and POPIA regulations.
- Prepare and submit quarterly, bi-annual, and annual Stat SA reports.
- Work on ad hoc projects and assist with any additional requirements as needed.
Education and Experience:
- Newly qualified CA(SA) with a strong academic record.
- Experience in the manufacturing sector with an understanding of cost structures and inventory management.
- Proficiency in IFRS standards, particularly IAS 2 (Inventories), IAS 16 (Property, Plant and Equipment), and IFRS 1(Revenue from Contracts with Customers).
- Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and financial modelling.
