Senior Operations and Engineering Manager
Location: Pinetown, KZN
Industry: Manufacturing (FMCG/Packaging)
An exciting opportunity has opened for a Senior Operations and Engineering Manager to take charge of the 2 Factories as well as lead the Central Engineering Department in a high-speed, continuous production environment. This senior management role is ideal for an experienced and dynamic professional looking to make a long-term impact in a growing business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee operational and production performance across multiple factories.
- Lead and manage the Central Engineering Department to drive efficiency and innovation.
- Implement asset care strategies to maintain production assets and service equipment.
- Deliver high-quality engineering and business unit projects on time and within budget.
- Identify and eliminate process bottlenecks to enhance productivity.
- Ensure effective budget management and cost controls for engineering and production functions.
- Provide hands-on support for operations and production when required.
Requirements:
- Engineering degree (BSc, BEng, or BTech) - non-negotiable .
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a management role within manufacturing (FMCG or Packaging preferred) .
- Proven expertise in projects, maintenance, and asset management .
- Strong leadership abilities with experience managing teams of Engineers and Artisans .
- High-level financial and commercial acumen .
- Advanced Excel skills and strong numerical abilities .
