Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ in Midrand has an opportunity available for an Operational Support Intern to join the DC team. The role will assist the Supply Chain team with day-to-day operational support, system administration, and stakeholder coordination. The role provides hands-on experience in supply chain operations, logistics processes, and system monitoring while ensuring efficiency in workflow and data management.Experience & Qualification:
Essential:
- Grade 12 – Matric
- Degree or Diploma in Transport Management or Supply-Chain/ Logistics
Responsibilities:
Supply Chain Support:- Assist in monitoring supply chain system performance and identifying issues.
- Support testing and implementation of system improvements and enhancements.
- Maintain and update relevant master data in supply chain systems.
- Provide regular feedback to the Junior Operation Support team.
Stakeholder Liaison:
- Establish and maintain a strong relationship with operational teams and stakeholders.
- Act as the first point of contact for operational queries and escalate unresolved matters.
- Deliver approachable and efficient knowledge services to all operations resources and stakeholders.
- Support daily system health checks and ensure smooth integration of supply chain systems.
- Log and manage HEAT calls according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Assist in compiling reports and analyzing data for operational improvements.
General:
- Adhere to Dis-Chem Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Adhere to Health and Safety rules and regulations.
Competencies/skills required:
- Basic knowledge of supply chain principles be able to work in a pharmaceutical environment (site applicable)
- Approach problems in a rational, intellectual manner
- Ability to understand the pharmaceutical operations
- English – Read, write and speak. Conveys ideas and facts in writing using language the reader will best understand
- Helps clients navigate complex or sensitive issues, keeping the client’s best interests in mind and advising on best practices. Maintains an open, approachable manner, and treats others fairly and respectfully.
- Diligently attends to details and pursues quality in accomplishing tasks. Checks work to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Takes personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work, and achieves results
- Computer Skills – Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Advantage: SAP experience.
