A well Established IT company based in Bryanston, requires a Operational Finance Manager:
DUTIES:
- Assist in Preparing accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports
- Preparation of the monthly covenant reports
- Including preparation of High-Risk balance sheet items: Bank, Vat, Accruals, other debtors and Tax accounts
- Review of teams Balance sheet Recons (AP/ AR and other)
- Approval and review of Purchase orders per the approval matrix (Sage system)/(ConnectWise)
- Ticket management with the team (CRM/ConnectWise)
- Work with Group FM and Payroll accounts to review the payroll reconciliation (income statement to payroll system) and payroll balance sheet accounts
- Assist with the budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
- Ensure timely submissions of VAT, PAYE, income tax, and other statutory returns (SARS)/(ICASA)
- Oversee working capital management, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow reporting
- Ensure compliance with the Companies Act and other statutory financial regulations.
Statutory Audit & Compliance
- Manage the end-to-end statutory audit process, acting as the primary liaison with external auditors, ensuring timely submissions, resolving audit queries, and implementing corrective actions
- Maintain a complete and accurate audit trail for all financial transactions and supporting documentation
- Develop, implement, and monitor internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy
- Regularly review and improve finance policies, procedures, and controls to enhance efficiency and mitigate risks
B-BBEE Compliance
- Manage and monitor all B-BBEE elements relevant to the business, including ownership, management control, skills development, enterprise & supplier development, and socio-economic development
- Coordinate the annual B-BBEE verification process with external verification agencies
- Maintain documentation and evidence required for B-BBEE audits
- Advise leadership on initiatives to improve and sustain the company’s B-BBEE level
- Track and report on B-BBEE scorecard progress and support HR and procurement in strategic implementation
Insurance and Risk
- Manage company insurance portfolio (assets, liability, business interruption, etc.)
- Ensure adequate insurance coverage is maintained for all company risks and assets
- Liaise with insurance brokers, review policies, renewals, and claims management
- Develop internal risk registers and assist with enterprise risk management reporting
People Leadership
- Provide leadership and direction to the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Managers
- Set clear performance objectives, conduct regular performance reviews, and identify training and development needs
- Ensure timely processing of customer receipts and supplier payments in alignment with company policies
- Promote a high-performance, collaborative, and compliant finance environment
Technical Skills and Competencies
- Advanced MS Excel and financial modelling skill
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Sage, or similar)
- Sound knowledge of IFRS and Companies Act requirements
- Familiarity with B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice and verification processes
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Excellent communication, time management, and organisational abilities
